Wilde Tiere und Vögel auf Sant’ Antonio und Umgebung:
Sant’ Antonio ist umgeben von Wäldern (teile unseres Waldes gelten laut UNESCO zum Weltnaturerbe), Ackern, und Olivenhaine im Herzen der Toskana. Unsere ruhige Lage, unser kleiner See und die umliegenden Wälder haben in den letzen Jahren einen Zuwachs an Wild und Vögeln verzeichnet.
Häufig auf unserem Grundstück oder in unmittelbarer Umgebung anzutreffende Säugetiere sind Rehe, Wildschwein, Stachelschwein, Igel, Fuchs, Feldhasen, Dachs und Eichhörnchen.
Für Vogelfreunde – eine Vielzahl an Vögeln wird Sie während Ihres Aufenthaltes auf Sant’ Antonio und unserer Umgebung beschäftigen und begeistern.
Zwischen 15 und 35 Autominuten von Sant’ Antonio Country Resort entfernt befinden sich verschiedene Seen die für Vögel und Vogelfreunde ein wahres Paradis bieten. Die größten Seen sind der Trasimenische See (Lago Trasimeno), Lago di Chiusi und für Vogelfreunde der wohl beste See Lago di Montepulciano, besser bekannt als die Oase von Montepulciano (“Oasi di Montepulciano”).
Die Oase von Montepulciano ist ein relativ flacher See mit einer Wasseroberfläche von ca. einem Quadratkilometer – dessen Vielzahl an Schilf- und Wasserpflanzen ideale Nest- und Brutstätten für Wasservögel bietet.

Lieber Nico,
Wir hoffen, du hattest eine gute und erfolgreiche Reise nach England. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in deinem Holiday Resort in der Toskana. Vielen Dank dass du uns dein Fernglas geliehen hast! Es war sehr nützlich nachdem Dale Ihres in der Abtei von Sant’ Antimo liegen ließ. Während unseres Aufenthaltes in Italien konnten wir 47 Vogelarten sehen, wovon wir lediglich 4 in Rom vorfanden. Auf deinem Grundstück hingegen, konnten wir 17 Vogelarten entdecken und weitere 26 in der Umgebung von Montepulciano. Bedenke bitte, dass wir uns auf Sant’ Antonio im Wesentlichen mit unseren Enkelkindern beschäftigten und daher einige Vogelarten gar nicht identifizieren konnten, inklusive dem von dir unter dem Olivenbaum am Pool Entdeckten. Der Wiedehopf migriert ja schon Anfang August und wir waren erst ab dem 25. August bis 1. September bei dir.
